Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Pelvic floor dysfunction is the inability to correctly coordinate contraction and relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles to carry out their functions. This can lead to a non-relaxing or an underactive pelvic floor which can both present with symptoms like incontinence, constipation or painful intercourse.
How can Physio help:
Your Physiotherapist can firstly determine the causes for the dysfunction, provide appropriate treatment and teach you how to effectively contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles.
